Hmm. Ooookay. Are you aware that, according to their website, they close at 9:30 on thursday nights? I know the cruise-ins are supposed to be at 7:30...but in the past, particularly in the summer when its warm and we have more than 6 people show up , people tend to stand around outside for a while before going in and eating...and having worked in a restaurant...they don't particularly like when groups come in an hour or so before closing. I'm sure you've already talked to the manager and all that, just making an observation I guess. I have no problem with the location or the restaurant itself. It makes better sense to have the cruise-ins somewhere right off of I-40. |

Everything is taken care of. And we have checked with them already, and they are very happy to have us there.
Don't worry there is a Cold Stone over there to. |

This will be a huge advantage for TFB. We are closer to the interstate, a lot more exposure, and a better location all together.
This is something that we needed to do to bring TFB back to where we once were. |

hmm 84.4 miles from my house
making it 168.8 miles round trip
@ 9 mpg (currently)
makes 18 3/4 gallons of gas
@3.20 per gallon
makes $60 in gas alone
Guess i wont be able to attend till i get my mileage tuned a bit better |

That is a bit of a drive for us. Well, we shall see on how the milage will be on Adam's car, and see if it is actually viable for both of us to drive sepparately.
I might make some meets since i am not working now, but if i don't see you there, maybe at the Autofair.. i RLY wanna go. |

Yeah it is 82 miles there for me, during rush hour traffic (at least that is only $20 of gas for me lol). That is over 2.5 hours of driving after I get off work from a 30 minute drive, and then have to go back to work the next day That is a lot of driving to be able to hang out only for about 30-45 minutes, would be nice if I was like 45 minutes closer lol
This is why the once a month/weekend thing would work out well for those of us who want to come hang out. |

From Wikipedia:
The Piedmont Triad, Triad, or North Carolina Triad is a region of North Carolina in the Piedmont that consists of the area centered around the cities of Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point, and Burlington. The area is connected by Interstates 40, 85, 73, & 74 and is served by the Piedmont Triad International Airport.

so if it serves 4 regions it shouldn't be a TRAID maybe a Quadraid?
I hate to sound like a member of the "charlotte crew" but mike is right with the working the next day thing. and the combinded total of almost 4 hours ouf driving in a day. i mean damn i have taken road trips shorter then that.
I go to what i can but maybe meeting some where in salsbury???? |

Nah, I hear ya.
Here's the deal, and this is with ALL due respect to EVERYONE not in the Triad. Keep in mind that the founders, Bryan and I, now are are well over an hour away from the triad ourselves.....
We were both members of different clubs with regional areas much larger than the triad. What we found was that western NC members didn't go to eastern events and eastern members didn't go to western events etc. etc. etc. So we decided to keep it local. Keep it in the triad, which was where we were from. ANYONE is welcome, but we're gonna keep it local for the local guys.
Funny thing, now Bryan and I are NOT local, and we're having to drive an hour and 20 minutes to get with the club!!!!!! DOH!!!!!!!!!! ....but again, keeping true to our roots, and the basis on which we started, it's gonna stay in the Triad. Salisbury is good for YOU guys, but what about Bryan and I......or Russ......or Joe.......-or what about Wil or Angela up in Virginia? Nope, as always, it'll stay in the Triad. |

And for the record, Wil, lewis, Zack, Jonathan, Bryan, Russ and myself all drive just under, or well over an hour. ...and I'm sure I'm forgetting somebody.....
If we move it 30 minutes west, then the people who live 30 minutes EAST now have an hour drive etc. etc. Bryan and I have discussed this over and over and over.
Nothing would make me happier than having everyone there at every meet, and no one has to drive more than a few miles. But no matter WHERE it is, SOMEONE has to drive.
.........but there IS a Charlotte F body club FYI. We are happy you guys chose us, and my understanding is that we're a stronger club, and we thank you for being here. I'll NEVER ask you guys to leave, but at the same time, please understand it IS the TRIAD F body club.
There are over 15 Charlotte area members here, and Adam is the only one we've seen at a cruise in. Not faulting anyone, and I understand some of you are new, but heck, I gotta get up for work too.- but if you guys down in Charlotte REALLY want us to come to the table and talk about making life more convenient, you gotta show me the money!!!!! What are you bringing to OUR table? How many of you caravaned down to the Gathering for G10? How about G11? .....and I already see some of you lining up for the Zeus Caravan (no offense to Zeus) for G12. Why not roll with us? .....and don't get me wrong, I don't mind if you go with Zeus, or any other club for that matter. Angela shows with Carolina F body for AF, not us, but at the same time, she's not asking me to relocate OUR cruises, ya know? |
